Question Act Clutch Help

Guys i'm looking at the ACT clutch...its the street disk....but 2 different pressure plates one is the heavy duty and one is the extreme....which one is better and wat is the difference...i found the extreme for 300 bucks brand new online and the heavy duty is like 550....

the thing i dont get is...from the specs online it shows the extreme can hold more torque but why would it be so much less???

I don't understand it either. Email the link(s) to me at dstarksen@advancedclutch.com and I will try and figure it out. All too often the descriptions are screwed up. Let me know if I can help.

^ The president of ACT already responded. What more could you possibly ask for?!

In general, when choosing a higher clamping PP it will make a much stiffer/harder to modulate clutch pedal. It will also grip into the clutch disk harder which means if you are slipping/roasting the clutch disk it will go out faster on a higher loading PP. IMO the best clutch for the EVO would be a really heavy duty PP and a street/orgranic disk, but the thing is you would be changing disks pretty frequenty which sucks.

Better is a relative term. Better for what? Nobody has the Xtreme because we have only released a couple prototypes them. That was one reason why I wanted to see a link or something. The first prototype went to Turbotrix for their car, but they are running the race disc, not the street disc. We have some on order from the first production run which is almost complete but otherwise there aren't really any out in the market.

The Xtreme costs about $50 more (at ACT retail).
