Upper IC pipe against radiater hose
Upper IC pipe against radiater hose
Well, i just installed my IC pipe kit and have retained the stock battery and intake. I have noticed that the Upper IC pipe is laying against the radiater hose. after I noticed this I put my hand on the Upper IC pipe right near the hose and it is getting pretty warm on the aluminum IC pipe.
what are my option beside getting rid of this upper IC pipe and going to a mini battery kit and intake for a different upper IC to work.
Any advise or experience would be greatly appreciated.

I think almost all intercooler pipes that work with the stock battery will contact the radiator hose. Id be more worried about the hose gettign worn than it heating the pipe up.
thanks for the info, i wasnt sure if this was true with all kits that retain the stock battery. My kit is the LPI IC kit.
I also wasnt sure if the radiator hose heating the upper IC pipe, might affect performance.

i have the LPI IC piping kit. mine didn't fit very well either. i had to cut my battery tray to get everything to fit and my stock airbox doesn't fit dirrectly in place as well either.
plus i have a boost leak from it that i'll hopefully get fixed some time this week
edit: hay picture~

Well, that install pics looks all too familiar. I have had the same issues. I had to remove the cover around the battery as well (just like you
). it doesnt make me feel too comfortable with this kit. I think i am going to get some of that kevlar looking thermal wrap and put it around the radiator hose. I will see how that works!! This has been my first regret purchase of all the mods so far, oh well it was bound to happen!!

Kee1pride:Where is your leak coming from?

i have the same kit with same problem but i installed it with a little different procedure but it works.. what i did was remove the uicp and remove the stock battery..
connect the hose to the intake manifold and secure it with t-clamp
install the uicp and secure everything with t-clamp expect to the intake manifold
now install the stock battery but since the uicp is somewhat far over the battery tray..you have to push the stock battery in with a little force... this will squeeze the silicone hose again the intake manifold with leaves some clearance room
after the battery is in... secure the last part of the intake manifold with t-clamp.. .with all said and done..stock battery should forced the UICP up which leaves a good sold 1 inch space between radiator hose and the ic pipe...
