from my experience you should stick with either stock or ngk.

when doing tuning high horsepower cars 400+ on the dyno, ignition misfire was a huge problem. often times, these guys came in with magnecor, msd, ect... wires... take those wires off and put some stock ones on and the misfire goes away instantly.

i know upgrading your car is fun, but sometimes its a case of if its no broke don't fix it.

I have the 8mm, and for me, the smoothed my idle out noticeably. When you see how small the plug wires are and the fact that you only get two because of our coil on plug configuration, you'll probably go with the 8mm.

I debated the 8.5mm and I don't usually take the less expensive route--but in this case the 8mm seemed the right choice.

When your running an aftermarket ignition amp, you really need to take a look at upgrading wires.

Hi,

I had the Magnecor 8.5 wires.

Unfortunately, they didn't fit perfectly, and I spent a couple of months diagnosing misfire issues at ~4500 rpm (near torque peak). I thought it was fuel cut, boost cut, etc.

I replaced hoses with Samco, tried lowering boost, several diff spark plugs with diff gaps. Some things helped, such as the plugs, but what eliminated the problem was swapping the stock wires back in. No more issues. I hated driving my car, since I always had to "drive around" the tq peak and not go WOT to avoid the studder.

I have seen some people do not have problems with the Magnecors, but apparently others do have this issue.

I'll see if I can find mine, you can have them if you pay for shipping, heh.

Take care,

I believe the ralliart wires are pretty much the same or if not identical to the magnecore 8mm. People have been having problems with the 8.5 but it seems different with the 8mm. I would like to know what kind of wires the ralliart ones are, if they are just slapped with the name and the same or entirely different. :shruggs: I dont know.

Stick with the stock wires , get them later when you're heavily modified.
