Evo Down, Help Me Diagnos My Problem So I Can Sleep Tonight!!!!

Yea i know this is stupid so I dont wanna hear it, but i was doing some donuts in a parking lot and as i stopped i heard a loud CLUNK sound. Now when i drive straight the car is 100% normal, but as I turn more then 20% in either direction there is a loud clicking sound, i can jsut feel it also, the more i turn the more it clicks. its one of 2 things:

1. Axel is broken, CV joint (HOPEFULLY!!)

2. My TRE modded t-case is broken (I will prob kill myself is this is it)

i'm gonna rip it apart tomorrow morning to see what it is, but if anyone has sopme insight to help me sleep tonight i'd appreciate it. I'm praying its the axel, and if it is does anyone have any or know where to get one???

Thanks in advance

Ouch !

The CV joint on my wife's Jeep Grand Cherokee 4X4 made clunking noises
when the CV joint went bad, while turning.

But I'm not saying that's your problem, I just hope that it's not your TRE modded case. Maybe it's just something simple ( gulp ).

Might also be power steering pump .... if you keep your steering wheel locked in one direction too long, you can blow your power steering pump ... but that might also make you steering heavier .... or could be the CV, when the CV joint goes you hear a squeeling noise when you turn the steering wheel ....

The TC transfers the engine HP to the wheels, I dont think it is effected by the turning of the wheels, only the power being transfered. Jon Hasnt had any of his TC's break, and I know your not the only one who has done a doughnut in a parking lot! I say it is NOT the TC. my 2c, or your 1800! GEARS stays up late anyway, PM him, or look for him on here!

Well, I know what my mother would say about this:

"You wouldnt have to worry about this if you hadn't done any donuts in the first place"

If you drive the car down the road, disengage the clutch, and turn the wheel, if it is still the noise, it cant be the TC, as you are not Transfering any engine power thru the TC, correct? If you still get the noise with the trans dis-engaged, I say CV joint. go to sleep and dont worry about it! For $9.00 per hour, I can have my wife call you and sing you a bed-time story, Pay pal or Major credit cards only!

I say you popped off a clevis clip in the CV joint, and the knuckes come out of "socket" when you turn the wheels!!

Where did he go? Do you think he went to sleep? or did the unthinkable? I think he's out doing a doughnut in the opposite direction this time!
