i would like to know more about the 2.1 destroked as well. people have been running it in the dsm world for quite some time now with good luck. from what i have heard a 2.4 destroked to a 2.1 can rev to 10,000 rpm with the proper valvetrain

Cool scc challenge !

"i don't know if anyone has read the latest scc cuz there haven't been any threads, i even searched, but tom passacquala's evo almost won, it lead the whole thing until it blew up. "

Yeah yeah ! That sucked ! we had to spin it pretty hard .. to get the "wide" power delivery we needed ! had oil pump drive fail .. & at 9,000 + rpm and 30lbs + boost with no oil pressure .. blew up was a nice way of putting it ! !

I have (2) bullets going together as we speak .. with some major changes to help the reliability .. It has been a crazy year for me .. but next year we are going to have some really good sponsership .. and will be running the car quite often ! !

lots of it i think depends on how lucky you get junkyard shopping, cuz if you can find the right stuff then you could get the block for cheapies. not sure about which oil pans and stuff you need nad which a/c and what not, but seems like everything is very similar between the two setups. so i think the block is what's most needed, stuff like the mounts they'll take care of when building anyway or you'd have to get from them after the build, altho i think those are similar too.

Is the only thing different between the 4G64 and the 4G63 the 9mm in deck height? And if so, would it be reliable re-deck the block by 9mm. Is this even do-able (I know little about engines, just looking for a possible angle). Could be a cheaper alternative.

trinydex, where is the world are you getting all this misinformation?

RRS, built our race car?

RRS, builds our motors?

There was about 3 other things in your posts that are completely wrong as well.

IIRC, RRS built RNR's FIRST 2.4. I think Ryan has done the rest.

atlvalet, is correct. We were in a huge time crunch(magazine shoot) for our 1st 2.4 build an RRS did it for us. We have since build about (12) 2.4's for the EVO.

I just don't like it when people post stuff they know nothing about.

well then they built yer first one, sorry.

who the hell said anything about your race car? calm yerself.

and i don't quite know what you're referring to when you say other things i said were wrong. unless you're reffering to what i'm saying to ferrarokid in which case i'm just exchanging dialogue.

the stuff i said referring to shopping around for a block is all speculation, if you'd like why don't you help the guy out and tell him what hte ball park should be.

RnR: What is happening with your 2.7L project?

Regarding the poll, I have miss typed, Buschur DON'T build there 2.3 with a 4G64, it's a 4G63 my bad.

David told me he used Crower H-Beam rods in his 2.25 (2.3)L motor, that's nice! The best rod I have seen anyone use this far.
When I asked him about coting and knife edging he said it's not worth it. I personaly like the idea of knife edging and coting. What do you guys say?

Can anyone please give me some more info on Magnus motors, I have emailed them but have'nt got any good response yet.

AMS is doing good in the poll but no one are talking about them, why?

i don't think crower rods are all that great anymore. there have been more than a few instances of them breaking in racecars pushing over 600 whp.
