boost too much?

my 05 MR, b4 i install my boost controller, with hks intake, helix dp and hks exhuast it was boosting up to 1.6 bar on the gauge, which is like almost 23 psi or something but not steady.

after i set boost controller , i'm running it with 1.5 bar of boost and it hold steady and i wonder if it's a safe range for daily drive? can i go any higher with that?

Dont go too high, your efficiency range with the compressor wheel has its limits. The evo turbo has a "sweet=spot" find it, and keep it there. I did hit 25 PSI, and it held to redline, but the sweet spot was at 22. so I lowered it to there, no problems, felt actually quicker! This was before the TME turbo/280's/Hks Twin power/Methanol inj. but anyway I think the effective range for the evo turbo is not over 23? what mods do you have? just the ones listed? if you run that high of boost, GET the added insurance of a Walbro fuel pump! good luck.

Your boost was higher due to the downpipe releasing back pressure and causing it to spike higher than stock. Now, with the MBC, a spike of 1.5 bar is perfect. Just don't let it go any higher than that with a roll-on to boots in 4th gear.
