Oh yeah..........with the ems you can tune that lumpy sh*t out, these cams when the car was mass air wanted to stall, right now it idles from 940-1010 rpm.....................sorry no vids I'm not that advanced yet,no I keep oem cams gears to me cam gears are for N/A cars and Nitrous your not going to fool with timing that much with these cars, just my opinion.

the RPM is usually aroung 800-900, but it just jumping around, sometimes it hits 1100 and then immidiately drop to 700. and after a while it jump up to 1000 again and then go back to 800 something.

BTW, a tuner told me not to raising the idle.
my idle does this too but never stalls out... my tuner said the fluctuating rpms was from my aftermarket intake, that if I put the stock airbox back on it should idle at the same speed all the time.. He says it's because the MAF sensor reads differently with the intake, dunno if that helps any or not..

Also, he told me if it ever did stall out raising the idle would be fine to do..

one more thing I gotta say..........the FQ-400 has motec on it for a reason, the stock computers suck for bolt-ons some people have good luck, some don't,they just put a aftermarket intake on the car and it runs like crap...........hell try not recirculating your aftermarket b.o.v.

.

The stock ECU and Karmen Vortex MAF is not very happy with CAIs.
Than after you install cams with a CAI, drivability and idle usually become a bigger issue.

To evo1919 you have to remember that the stock Evo ECU is adaptive.
After a few days, it maybe switching maps or trying to revert back to the stock
a/f parameters. ( not sure ).

You might try just resetting the ECU. It might not be a bad idea
to reinstall your stock airbox and try tuning it again.
As far as the cams settings, that's up to you.

Thanks for your advise man.

I may try to reset the ECU and see how the car idle.

For changing back to stock air box, this would be my last try, since i really like how HKRS sounds. ^^

Again, Really want to say thanks for your help guys.

I feel the same way... I've installed 272 cams, fuel pump and ECU flash all in one day and my cars never been the same infact I haven't even driven much for a month because of the constant stalling.

In the mean time I ditched my HKS SSQ (v-t-a) my tuner told me that would get ris of the stalling issue and added cam gears and adjusted to -4/-1.5

I love the lopey idle.. the cam gears kinda got rid of that but I still get it sometimes and then it goes away again.. wierd isn't it?

I just can't stand stalling out.. it seems mines worst to you scenario because my car dies whenever i reverse or moving in traffic, when I try to flutter the gas to keep it alive it makes it even worse.

When it idles it's not too bad... I mean it dips alot.. down to 300-400 rpms but NEVER dies out just idling only when moving short distances or reversing. At idle my rpms stays around 900-1000 but like I said dips every few minutes.

Plus I get alot of black smog coming out my exhaust do you?.. I mean when it's idling I see a line of black residue behind my exhaust and throwing all kinds of CEL's... do you throw any CEL's? if so what kind?

I'm mostly geting p0 171 sys too lean

occasional codes are inactive 02 sensor, airflow voltage low, and random misfire

All codes I never gotten before my 272's... I love those cams and rather not trade them in for 264's but if worst comes I'll ditch my 272 intake with a 264 and go with a staggered set up.

I'll soon know what the problem is when I bring my car back to Pruven since they know alot more than me... everything I learned about my problem is from this forum and it's been great reference.

I forgot to wish you luck!
