Yes, I searched?

I just bought a 05" EVO and previoulsy owned 5 dsms....none of my dsms did this. First off everything is great and EVO's really do handle awesome. I did not think that the difference would be that great compared to my coil over etc etc 92 DSM, but it really is night and day...great car.

Now for the problem if I shift fast....not powershift just a really fast lift shift there is a solid "Clunk" from the rear end.

I've had people sit in the backseat and they said its much more noticable in the back then when they are riding in the front. It's definately coming from the rear. To much backsplash? Bushing? To be more descriptive if I floor the car in 2nd and shift at 4.5K it won't "Clunk" anything above that and if the shift is fast "Clunk".

Mine does that also. Seems to be a normal thing although it doesn't sound great. I'm pretty sure it comes from releasing the clutch too fast because if I do a really slow shift at redline theres no clunk, but a fast one gets the clunk.

It's normal, the EVO can be a bit noisy at times. I don't mind tho

EVO's have a mechanical limited slip in the rear end instead of the viscouse coupleing you are used to as a limited slip unit in the DSM's. Much stronger, but also prone to making more noise

u definitly have to learn to accept the weird noises that the evo makes, and distinguishing the good from the bad is hard to do at times!
