PO134 code after mani & o2housing swap..

I got the PO134 code 1 minute after driving the car from doing a exhaust manifold and o2 housing swap. I looked up the code here and it says- PO134 heated oxygen sensor no activity detected. When i did the swap on the o2 housing i disconnected the o2 sensor from the coilpack area and cleaned the sensor part with wd40 and a rag then screwed it back into the o2 housing and connected it back to the coilpack area. Im thinking this is what messed it up. But i want to know your opinions before i go out and buy this o2 sensor. Maybe its something else... I used alot of rusty bolt loosener spray around the manifold bolts. Is this why im getting the bad burnt smell when my car is warmed up?? Any help would be VERY HELPFULL!!!!!!! Thanks.

O2 sensors are very very delicate. I just swapped my O2 housing and as soon as I took the sensor off it went in a zip lock bag. You can also mess them up by getting antiseize on the sensor (threads are okay). I would suspect that the WD40 killed it.

I know it was dumb of me to clean it. What is C16? I did reset the ECU but the code came right back on. The code says heated sensor no activity. Im gussing its completely gone or maybe the plug connector is loose. So do yall think this is the problem or is it something else? By the way what size wrench goes with this sensor so i can go purchase? Im tired of using vise grip.

i had this problem.. you damaged the front 02 sensor when doing the install. Its going to need to be replaced, if you throwing that code the ecu believes its running super lean, so as a precaution it will begin to richen itself up to attepmt to reach stoic. So for the time being your going to be running crazy rich, getting horrible gas mileage ( i was getting something like 10mpg) and be down on performance. Iv heard that you can use a GM 02 sensor maybe (which would be a cheap fix).. to replace the stock unit is going to be around $250. Lancershop has the part in stock

WD40 may not have killed it but something may have come loose.
C16 is Leaded RaceGas.
You may need a new O2 sensor :}

WHOA $250!!! I think i saw a bosch replacement at logicperformance for $79.99. I really did notice the poor performance. The car was alot slower. I did not know if it was just me but now that bdking mentioned it. I'll try to reconnect at the plug and see if it was loose. Keep the help coming yall.

the WD-40 most likely wiped out the sensor. Those things are not meant to be cleaned.

You killed it vise grips and wd40 did it in. Purchase new one. Also any 4 wire O2 sensor will work your paying for the wires and plug. You will have to splice and solder the new one to the old connector. Kinda WT if you ask me though.

WD-40 is a no no for sensors. My guess is that your 02 sensor is mess up. You should have use the carb cleaner that is sensor safe.

I think it's 7/8". There are also special O2 sensor sockets that you can use if you can't get to the hex with an open end wrench.

UPDATE. Thanks for the info guys. Well i rechecked the plug connetction and made sure everything was snapped together and reset the ECU. I went driving around through traffic and high speeds for about 3 1/2 hours and the CEL has not came back. Im guessing the plug was not making full contact since the code read -PO134 No activity detected. Hopefully the CEL does not come back so i wont spend $250 at carquest. Thanks guys.
