Guys aftermarket housings are worth the damn money yes or not?
Searched, simply need some hard and direct dyno results of anyone who has tried that and which one they tested.

I looked at the Megan, DNP, Helix

Thanks for your time

I have not seen huge gains from a O2 housing. Not to say that they aren't there. The main problem I see is that they do not include a support bracket that is on the stock piece. This piece is the main support for the turbo and manifold. If you are running a aftermarket exhaust manifold you might crack it.

I am running the GT Spec manifold which is very buff so I would not be worried about cracking it. But other manifolds(mainly ebay ones) I would be very worried about cracking.

We have not seen or have any problem with a Helix 02 housing nor Maxford cracking on us even for extreme track usage. However, I do agree with Ben how a cheap ebay manifold will crack if the proper support aren't there.

I have the Helix 02 housing on my car and I do notice a better spool up with it and avg gain of 5-7 whp. The stock o2 housing is alot smaller compare with the Helix. We should have the Helix o2 housing back in stock in 2-3 weeks.

Thanks,
Tom

I have been told by a reliable tuning shop (I wont call you out) that they are not worth the money, and the gains are nil. spend the money on another go faster part!!!! you'll thank me later!

/\ I agree, you would be better off porting the stock o2 housing and having it thermal coated..

Thanks for the info, I have decided to go with a custom piece for my stock 05 turbo, with the hotside being bigger Im in the mood as always to experiment on different things, if this piece works as I hope it does, I will post a dyno graph about it.
