DC-Sport Manifold & EM 02 Housing

Well Im waiting for the car to cool off so I can install these 2 items. I sent both out to get ceramic coated (2000F coating) in Satin Black. They came out great! Here are some pics. Ill have pics after installed too. I got the ceramic coating done at PerformanceCoatings.com. They did an awesome job and did it FAST and it was inexpensive!

UPDATE: Performance Review: I can definitely feel a difference in the top end and spool up is noticeably quicker. At first, it felt like I lost mid range but then I realized my boost was only 21psi after the install and I usually run 22-22.5 so I turned it back up... oh yeah... its there lol. Overall Im very happy with the peice! I cant wait to get on my ported hotside and new 02!

Did you remember to plug up all the holes that has threads in it? You might want to make sure the dp bolts will go back into the threads.

Very nice, but I heard the coating could end up cracking b/c of the expanding of SS when it gets hot.

Have you installed it yet, im considering that same set up just with the Ebay 02 housing. Post up how the install was and did you notice any power gains, spool up?

Im actually not doing the 02 tonight. Looks to be way too big of a PITA. Do it another day.

Ckim, I havent heard that one, but since a lot of people are coating SS items and not having problems with it, I guess it depends!

bump for a review of the manifold. Did you see any gains after the install?

It doesn't crack because of the expansion. It cracks because people will send it out to a performance coating place before they run it through a few heat cycles. The pores in the metal will have some crap in them after manufacturing/polishing which can lead to a coating cracking if not run through a few heat cycles first. It could also be from a bad prep job, but I'm not positive since my experience is speaking from painting/body work.

Gains - I definitely feel a top end gain. ~10whp is pretty accurate up top. I do however I feel like I lost a little punch around 3800-4200. Of course, now the power delivery feels very smooth to 7500.

My car will be going back to the dyno later in the month. However, I will be adding the 02 I did add the BR FMIC after the dyno last time (however I did have an aftermarket lower pipe) so we shall see!

The car feels extremely strong right now.
thats pretty good news considering most of the SS manifolds out there people are losing horsepower. Hopefully the dyno will tell us more good things about this manifold because for the price you really cant go wrong!! Please post up dyno results when you get them.

Yeah there was no way I was putting a $199 EBAY manifold on my car. DC is a much bigger and more respectable company in terms of quality. Also, there has been at least 2 indepedent tests on the DC manifold back to back dyno, one was Turbo Magazine a couple months back, they got 11whp/4tq out of it on mild bolt-on EVO, I think those gains are quite realistic.
