Personally - I prefer my 2003 Evo the most - the new ones have some features that are nice but for those making modifications you are going to replace most of that stuff anyway
When the IX turbos begin to come down in price and people start to swap up in the IX's to larger turbos and sell them used - they are a great choice for a street turbo
Most interesting will be when we finally get our hands on a GT35R equiped IX and see how much faster it can spool with the MIVAC

Congrats on the high mileage and rock solid heavy hitting EVO. The motor is actually the last thing I worry about going. People have been running DSM motors insanely hard for years and not had problems.
I love my 2003 more than the others as well mainly because I hate leather, I love HIDs, and I must have a moon roof. The ****ter is the xfer case issue but for $850 you cannot go wrong getting a ralliart FLSD.
