Case study # 109 - 90,000 miles with Dyno Flash - 366 whp !

Here is member Hwangtkd who has had his 2003 Evo Dyno Flashed with the mail in base flash for the last year and a half and 50,000 miles

Now he is just at 90,000 miles and decided to add the alcohol injection kit to his Buschur Stage 4 kit

93 octane pump gas
Buschur Stage IV with stock injectors

Custom Tuned Dyno Flash

The car is running like a clock - amazing how these Evos hold together - a great engine !

He drives a lot and loves his evo

Wildest part is that he had a slitly split hose coupling which created a significant boost leak

Its 2:00 a.m. and too late to contuing dyno tonight

Tomorrow when the boost leak if fixed it should pick up about 20 on the tq side

good to know we can get some use out of these cars even as the miles keep adding up. Is this a really conservative tune or is the motor getting weak? I think your average numbers with alky are a bit higher.

Hey AL those numbers are less then an 05 MR EVO 8 that you tune with less mods? Those 05 seems to be out numbering the 03 with less mods . I'm pretty sure it's gotta be more then just the hotside?

I have about the same setup as that and believe my numbers are around there as well.

Like he said earlier in the thread, there is a hose with a slit in it - a boost leak. He said he will get more torque and with torque also comes power.

I am sure there is some more power left in this car - but generally we see about 15 - 20 more whp on a 05 than an 03

JUST WAIT GUYS still we start getting our hands on those IX evos - its going to be totally insane

From what Nick was saying at Precision, he said the main reason these IX's are making good power has to do with the turbo. If i can recall, he was doing testing on the dyno and hence were he got this conclusion. WHat are your thoughts on this Al?
