Racing Suction RELOADED?

Just found this on the HKS site. Looks like a new intake from them.

I don't know what the RS look like in detail.

Does anyone know how this is different from the usual stuff? Is it only the filter element that's different? Humm....

The link's separate form the 'normal' racing suction kit. I can't read Japanese so if anyone does, the text is on the usual site....

The top pic is different from my RS intake. But the installed pic looks exactly like my intake.

The bottom picture of course is the HKS RS intake kit for the Evo, like the one I use.

I dont recognize many of the parts in the top image - looks totally different than mine.

Just had this confirmed from Japan:

Racing suction kit (normal) = WET type element
Racing suction RELOADED = DRY type element

All I know is that with my wet HKS RS, debris and small sand particles gets past the element - not good. Think about it, sand hitting the turbo compressor blades, then valves, then combustion chamber.

I stole some of my wife's panty hose and put a dubble layer boundry over the filter just to block a good portion of the crap that makes it past the filter. It breathes the same, if not, just slightly richer. As long as I dont have to explain to my wife what happened to them, I think it was her nice set.

I would not recommend the rs in sandy areas like vegas or utah - it filters terribly.

If the dry option works better and doesnt change the tuning, then someone please let me know.

I did a search but couldn't find a cover for the rs filter. Where do you get it?

trinydex:
They call it "wet" from the compound surfaces of the element. Next time you change your filter, rub it on some glass and you'll see an oil residue remaining - probably that electrostatic compound commonly seen on other filter applications
