I think this is probably the largest poll on the subject:

i have a exedy hyper single stage 3 kit for sale cheap. it sells for about $1200, i am selling it for $700
but basically, it comes with a lightened flywheel, a 6 puck spring disk and a heavy duty pressure plate.
this clutch is nice in 3 ways
the complete assembly is lighter by 5.2 lb (i weighed it) than the stock
its smaller, 225mm compared to stock 240mm
a thinner disc that allows for a lot less clutch travel.

Installation will run between $500-$1000, so I don't thik that you'll save too much money, but go with the ACT HDSS. I've had mine for 20K miles and have had no issues.

I have been using the RPS Street Max that Injected Performance sells. It is fully upgradeable, but pedal pressure is definately noticable at first. No engagement problems at all, with stock clutch line and restrictor.

Install it yourself, then you can verify that it has been done correctly, and if not you will have it fixed instead of leaving it broke until it creates a bigger problem.

When my clutch goes....I'm gonna replace it with the RRE-no name clutch.

Basically I beat the **** out of my car and the stock clutch has held for 30k very aggressive miles. The RRE-x looks like stock and has a tad more clamping force. Unless you are hella modded or are willing to spend a grand on a clutch something like the RRE is the hot ticket especially since it wont void your warranty.

Why not consider sticking with the OEM Clutch? IMO it is a great clutch. You will never have a lock out issue and it should hold up to about 400whp. I am at 360 whp and I track my car and drag race it. It has 22K on it and is still holding up. I am going to replace it soon with another OEM piece. BTW I do not launch it like a sissy either. I quick slip it at 6000 all the time. The reason that these clutches are wearing out quickly is driver error not poor design.

I agree that there is nothing wrong with the OEM clutch....but a tad more holding power wouldn't be a bad thing to have. Is the OEM clutch cheaper than aftermarket ones?

^ No I don't think the OEM clutch is cheaper, I'd go with the ACT clutch aswell.

Keep telling yourself that. In good time, it'll go with abuse.

The OEM clutch is only 257 bucks (I just checked with the dealer 2 days ago).
