remove air box lid

remove air box lid

if i remove the stock air box lid will tat effect the engine at all?

not really, blitz sells the filter kit that removes the cover and hold the filter. and you will hear your turbo and bov sound.

i wouldn't think you would have to many problems, not sure about tuning issues that can develop with aftermarket intakes. i believe blitz makes a cover that basically eliminates the stock cover, and opens it up for less restriction, lancer shop is maybe where i saw it. someone that has this may be able to jump in as far as long term drivability. i would make sure to at least drop a k&n in there or equivalent if your gonna do it. however the stock intake is good for like 375hp (someone correct me if im wrong), so as they say, if it aint broke...

there is one bad effect.
you will suck in the hot air of the engine bay. I know a guy who has that blitz one. It seems pretty ok. he has been using it for years.

no gains just more blow off noise. if it's hot out the car idles crappy. if anything the car runs worse in my opinion.
