Yeah I get it too. See sig for mods. I wonder if I may have a damaged or broken motor mount that could be adding to the shudder.

Most of the standard tranny cars I've driven had some sort of mild stutter, especially when cold. My evo started doing it on the stock clutch, and has been doing it since about 10,000 miles (now at 42,000).

Try reading up on the ingall's stiffy review thread here on evom. I put one in to help with high rpm shifting issues (which it did help), but it also practically made any and all stutter go away. Assuming you didn't smoke your clutch and have big globs of friction material all balled up on the clutch facing, an engine dampener could help.

I have the same shuttering issue, it is only in the rear end though. Suggestions? I just recently bought the car.

The clutch that came new in my car would do this. The trouble was the clutch lasted 90K. I replaced it with another OEM clutch. Maybe OEM but not the same clutch. This one is sweet.

Would your shutter only be in the rear end?

It was the clutch.

The only time you should get a shudder in the rear end is if turning and the gear oil in the differential needs friction modifier. Yeah, I know they stacked the USDM differential plates so as not to work but sometimes they do anyway.

A little chatter in the rear from a properly working plate type LSD does not mean something is wrong. Go watch the WRC cars and notice the racket they make.

Do you know what oil is in there? If not, the easy solution may be some Diagueen.
