intake manifold help
Well I was thinking about remvoing my stock intake manifold and sending it to Buschur Racing for there ported intake manifold. First I was wondering how hard is it to remove from the car? Second if anyone has any suggestions to help me remove it I would really appreciate it. Has anyone had this done? If so how long did it take and did you notice any improvements? I also already have Works 65mm throttle body.
oh yaeha I forgot to mention that the motor is still in the car. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!!

God, how can I put this words.. IT SUCKS!!
Really, though. basically you have to remove the head with the intake manifold attached. ( If someone else have removed the intake maniflod without removing the head then PLZ chime in ) The reason is because it's impossible to get to a nut on the driver's side that holds it on to the head.
So if you're removing the head, that means undoing the timing belt, taking the exhaust manifold off. Oh and there's 2 bolts on the bottom of the intake manifold that's attached to a brace.
I say if you're planning to do this might as well do cams, arp head studs, and don't forget a new head gasket.
as for how long it takes, well that all deoends on your skill level, but with hand tools it took me about 5 hours.
make sure to have a friend help lift the head off.

well I didn't really want to take the head off man thats what I didn't want to hear, but thatsy why I asked. I've been working on my car when I have free time for the last month. So far I have everything off except the head and intake manifold. I want to put apr studs in and I already have cams but I really didnt want too take the head off. If I have too take the head oof what should I do for that I guess. I haven't done it befor so some info would help heres some pics of my total progress. Man and too think this whole project was just to upgrade the turbo.

Well, depending on what kind of cams you have you might want to upgrade your valve springs and retainers. port and polish the head? bigger valves, I mean it really depends on your budget.
As for myself, I installed arp studs, hks head gasket, 272 cams, supertech valve springs and titanium retainers.

I have works cams with there valve springs and retainers. My budget is about maxed thats why I didn't want to take the head off. Has anyone removed there stock intake manifold without removing the head?
