right u can say its ghetto but considering its 120$ vs 300$, to me it doesnt make sense when they can both do the same thing. plus my friend had a 2g eclipse with a 1g crushed and it sounded pretty damn good when it was vented to the atmosphere and that might be cheap but many people did it with the eclipse because 1gs were stronger, and the jdm evo mr valve is supoupposedly stronger than the stock evo 8 from what i here.

Ok here I will lay it down a little better then calling it ricey. The reason he is saying that is because are cars rely on a MAF sensor. The reason the valves have to plumb back into the intake pipe to keep this sensor happy. If you were to vent everytime you get on the car and clutch it real fast the idle will either drop way down or the car will just flat out die. VTA is just not a good thing to do and it will hurt the performance of your car. If you want the cool noise as well go with a dual vent bov or get a greddy type rs and have the whistle noise. Hope this helps.
Don't VTA because you are still running the stock MAF. What is going to happen is that when you vent, that air has already been accounted for, so it will cause a very rich condition.
This will hurt your performance!!!!! Just stay with what you got. If you do want some sound get an intake (but make sure to tune it). Even getting an intake won't give you much noise or hp, since it will need to be tuned because it causes the MAF to read very unaccurately.

i appreciate your advice, but i have another question if i VTA and get a dynoflash it will be fine correct or do you still lose horsepower either way? and lets say i dont VTA should i still buy a jdm evo mr or another brand, or leave the stock one?

only problem for doing that is the stock bov opens little under the vaccum and leaks little bit on any boost level. you can try and let us know. it should be easy, just gotta have a plug for the intake.
Ok i'm assuming you have an evo 8 with the stock plasitc diverter valve. Then YES, do change it out for the JDM MR unit, its cheaper than other ones and holds boost great. AND DONT TRY TO VTA IT, just recirculate it that is what it's made for.

Just curious, who/what gave you the idea that a tune had anything to do with being able to VTA? Did you get intakes and BOVs mixed up? A tune will allow you to run an aftermarket open-air intake, but a tune doesn't have anything to do with venting to atmosphere.
