Unhappy Look's like my luck has run out!

Well I noticed there has been alot of vibration coming through my clutch pedal, So today while pulling into my garage to change my oil i felt grinding in the pedal.
While the car was in gear and holding the clutch in i reved to like 5k rpm's... Thats when I felt it, Felt like metal hitting metal... Please break the news to me softly, what is wrong with my car.

-checked tranny fluid its fine.

-update- the grinding feedback I feel in the clutch pedal can be felt when I rev past 3k rpms even when the car is not in gear. You can also hear the the grinding, its very similar to the grinding sound you hear if you would try to shift w/out the clutch being fully eganged. It is most noticable from 3-4k rpms... When standing in front of the car it seems to be coming from the left side of the car in the lower region. compession check was good, and when I drained the oil there was no shavings in it.

Sounds like it could possibly be your throwout bearing/clutch/flywheel. Does the noise change if you have the clutch in versus out?

if it grinds when you rev it out of gear than i dont think its trans related.. sounds like you have a problem in the lower end, or maybe even the head. could even be something in the pulley system.

have someone rev it out of gear while you try to figure out exactly where the noise is comming from. that will make it easier to figure out.

also put it up on jack stands and see if its coming from the oil pan.
