Alky Kit Pressure Gauge Question
I've got a smc alky kit on the way that has a pressure gauge mounted on the tank. What I would like to do was either make that gauge remote (meaning move it to the cabin so I can see it with the rest of the gauges) or hook up another pressure gauge to it to be able to monitor it from the drivers seat. I was thinking of maybe using a fuel pressure gauge. Anyone have any thoughts on this or has anyone actually done this? Thanks.
I have a water pressure gauge on my gauge pod on the A pillar for my water system. You can get a gauge from mcmaster.com. Also, do put a snubber inline or your gauge needle will be jumping like crazy when it pumps and may damage the gauge.

anyone else have a clue?

evoikon:snubber has either a porous frit or a tiny orifice to reduce flow to the gauge to prevent needle from jumping crazy. I got mine from mcmaster.com, part #4034K1, 10 microns. Also getting a glycerine filled gauge helps damp put the pressure pulses from the pump.
kmcconn9:totally. Running high boost, an engine will be damaged in seconds if injection fails.
miki:it all depends on whether the pressure transducer can see water/alcohol.....if they can, its a matter of getting fittings from swagelok and piecing it together. I strongly recommand a good quality fitting because of vibration, summer hot/ winter cold and other conditions it has to endure and not leak...bad juju if it leaks and you are running straight alcohol.
Evilblue:check with the gauge maker to see if the pressure transducer is compatible with alcohol/water
Guys feel free to ask anything, i've gone thru it and will try to help as much as i can.
