After 5 hours reading&searching - Exhaust Question - never been asked

Ok, I am going to get my TBE. like 90% here said Buschur Racing 3" is the best, I am going to get 3" DP + 3"Test Pipe or 3" HFC. Coz I live in LA and cops here likes to inspect your car and your cat, so HFC might be the choice for me.

Here is my question about the exhaust after couple weeks searching:

I need a Cat back that looks good/sounds good + Performance, ike everyone else was asking. BUT the most important thing is:

the tip MUST pointing SIDE WAY (not 90degrees but something like 45 degrees to the right side)..... and no body actually discussed this yet.

right now I know HKS HI power, SRS GTII, and fujitsubo TI are pointing side way. if not because of the HKS are only 75mm (which isnt 3")... otherwise I will just grab it and run...

So please, your input is needed .. all I need to know is what brand and name of the exhaust then I will do the study myself. thanks!!!

3" is needed.

once again, Thanks.

Why exactly did you need it to point out to the side? That will just make the cops wonder more about your car. If you are worried about the exhaust on your bumper then get a shield.

if the slanted tip is a big deal, why don't you just get the HKS. You realize that 75mm is 2.9527" right? So you're freaking out of 47.3 thousandths of an inch?

Yeah, the reason why you think no one has ever discussed it is because you call it "sideways." The tip is not sideways, otherwise it would be pointing out the side of the bumper. It's just an angled tip. If you do a search for angled exhausts, you'll get tons of results.

wouldnt an angled tip refer to a tip that has been cut at an angle. Rather than a straight tip ??? I dont remember a angled tip referred to a tip that is sideways

Actually, there're more available angled exhausts than straight stock-looking for the EVO. If you want less-chance that the cops will bother, the stocker you look, the lesser the chance.

Magnaflow Ti is no longer in production I hear.
Most of the Japanese brands offer the 'JDM style' tip where the cannister is at an angle exiting the car. My Greddy Ti is slightly offset.

For the angled look = HKS is the best. Its not loud at idle, but when you get into the gas= wow!

When I buy an exhaust, it will be one of the angled ones. Main reason is that the piping is straighter with less bends, not the looks.

I know this makes little difference, but it gives me some peace of mind. When I send 800 bux on an exhaust, I want it to be as perfect as I WANT it. Yes, ignorance is bliss.

My current choices are Greddy Ti and RS-R GTII 80mm. Both will be loud, I know. I am concerned if these narrow down at the cat flange, though!

I am considering the helix Ti system, but I want to see installed pics!

Yes, buschur makes a great, cheap system - but lots of posts mention it needing tweaking or adjusting. So, thats one reason not to get the buschur. HKS is cool, but I am just not a fan of HKS. I have had great luck with greddy and Apexi.

Either which way, i will be getting the carbon fiber piece that protects my bumper.

Ok, I am done! Good luck on your quest!
