Is there an after market oil pan...

...out there for our cars? Just wondering. I want to buy a stock oil pan ASAP, but if I could get a better than stock I would. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Puzzeled? WTH could be wrong with your oil pan, did you tighten the drain bolt to much or interested in a vented oil pan. Just curious!!

Finding stuff in the pan after cleaning it out again and again. Not sure if I want this stuff flowing through the engine oil pump.

That would mean that there is a problem larger then the oil pan. If you have metal shavings then you might want to pin point the problem before worrying about the oil pan. And the filter should catch almost all metal shavings.

i agree that if you are continuously finding metal shavings in your pan then you should find out what is going wrong with your car.

you can contact Moroso for an oil pan. i am not sure if they have on out for the evo yet but they have a really nice one for 1g and 2g dsm's. it hold 2qts extra oil, has a trap door in it to always keep oil at the oil pick up tube (for all you autocross guys).

good luck.

Assuming you're unbolting the pan to clean/inspect it?

ok..... so do you think the "stuff" you're finding in your oil pan is actually caused by the oil pan? If so, replacing the pan would be the fix. But if the "stuff" is coming from something besides the oil pan, how would changing the oil pan fix the problem?

You had the engine rebuilt, do you think that the "stuff" is just residual that is slowly working it's way down to the oil pan, and slowly coming out with the used oil? I'd say drop the pan and clean it all out, and then go give your engine builder a butt kicking for leaving all that "stuff" in the fresh engine.

Is it metal shavings or gasket material or other? Please be a bit more specific on your troubles and maybe we can help. If you think you already have the problem diagnosed and you just want a new pan, the stock pan or a custom built one will be your only option.

After the washings I'm still getting stuff out. Maybe shavings from one of the crank barrings.
