Vision Imports is now an Importer of
Mitsubishi Mivec Motors. These
motors bolt directly into your
97+ Mirage, or 02 Lancer.
$3700 - $3900

If you're talking about the FTO's MIVEC engine...that's a 2.0 V6 6A12 engine. It's DOHC 24 valve, 1998cc and output @ 170hp
You can prob get that for half the price from Aussie or NZ...given you know where to look

If you mean reliability, well, can't answer that since no one I know has that in their car.Put it this way, it's the Mitsu version of VTEC...shouldn't be too complex
Couple of corrections:
The 6A12 DOHC MIVEC makes 200PS (approx. 196hp)
The engine in the upcoming Ralliart Lancer is a 2.4l SOHC unit. It is likely NOT going to be based on the 6A12 block, since that block is a V6 configuration.
had some problems with the first generation 1.6l 4G92 DOHC MIVEC because it featured valve deactivation. The technology back then was not good enough to deal with the switching and created some rough driving. Also,
overstated flywheel HP a bit on both engines...

Damn... I'm thinking I'll save up like 7.5 Grand do a MIVEC and a turbo... and I'll be able to have some serious g-force induced fun :-). Stupid college loans... get rid of those and I'd be set!
Any idea how much it costs to get a shop to do an engine swap? Anyone on this board that we know of that has a MIVEC?

Vision Imports is now an Importer of THE MIVEC but you could also get one from Aus. or so i was thinking of this my self and i do believe we are waiting on someone to try i haven't heard anyone who has done the swap. and as for price i dunno i know from vision imports it's 3-4000 dollars for the engine and whatever your shop would carge to drop it in, that i don't know cause i far from pulling this task off.
