I found Downpipes on this forum for $139 and $149. As per the test pipes I found them for around $85.

I don't know if we are allow to display the vendors names but if you want me to help you out, just send me a pm and I will tell you who sells them that cheap

Megan is a good choice but RSR is another relatively cheap (nonstainless is about 160 and stainless is about 250) and it deletes teh cat as well.

Yes, but any one-piece design will cause trouble if you ever just want to slap the cat back in real quick for inspection/legal/emissions reasons. You can't do that with a one-piece; you have to replace both the dp/tp each time. If that's not a problem, then the one-piece units are good for you.

Good point...and the reason I won't use a one-piece unit. Swapping out a cat/test-pipe is very easy and not time consuming.

Yea I forget about other states but in NY we only have to make sure we throw now cels and we basically pass, there are no sniffer tests.

Even so, they should do a visual inspection to see if you have a cat. That's what they do here...CEL check and a visual, undercar inspection to ensure that you have a cat.

Yea I guess it depends where you go but most places near me (lower NY) don't ever bother. I ran no cats on suby for 2 years and now my EVO and so far so good as far as inspection goes.

All Test pipes are the same as long as the ID is the same.

A 3" Testpipe made by Megan racing will not flow any less then a 3" pipe made by Buschur or Amuse.

The only thing that the Alloy of the pipes has an effect on is resistance to corrosion and weight.

Now if one had hi temp coating and one didn't then the one with the coating would have the advantage.
