both turbos seem to be a good upgrade from the evo8 turbo. what i am interested in is how much additional power does the evo9-20g make over the oem evo9 turbo?

I think David did mention that its not a direct bolt on to an 8

yup. you need to buy a install kit for the 9-20g to fit it to the 8. the kit is $140. this turbo really seems to be the way to go for us "little" turbo 03-04 guys. I am psyched for this bad boy

I don't think anyone is going to test this before Dave Buschur, unless some brand new 06 evo wonder picks up the 20g.

Why are you bumping this like no one is giving you the correct answers? No one but Dave Buschur has this answer unil today. I Highly doubt an evo member is going to just spend $2,000 to buy it from mitsubishi to try this out. Search by his name and you will find the answers you are looking for.
