Looking for a wideband with a switch power output, like user setable

Ok im looking for a wideband 02 system that has a switched possitive or switch ground that can be set to energize at a user determined a/f setting. Is there any made yet that are at a good price? Im trying to get around using a greddy switching system or e-01 to safeguard my boostcontroller. thanks for the time.

Why not just have the Wideband on all the time? Also if the wideband was off how would you get it to read the AF to turn on?

You would need a control box that is always on an monitoring AF, when the box saw a preset AF it would then power the guage, but you would always neeed to have the controler on.

im sorry, but im not understanding why?

first thing that came to my mind was, constantly replacing WB sensors @ ~$180 a pop for the L2H2 sensors... the sensor won't last long unpowered.

also, you would need to remove the sensor from the exhaust and recalibrate the sensor for an accurate reading each time you repower it.

hope this helps.

thats why i suggested to him having the sensor always on and a switch calibrated to the voltage of the desired af to power the guage.

I think is what he wants is software... I think he wants it so if his AFRs reach say 12:1 it will trigger a switch (So he can have it cut boost, or light up a light saying DANGER! DANGER!). I may be wrong but thats what I think he needs....

That would be a mess, every time you shift or even start to lift your afr's raise and would trigger the switch. You would have to use a voltage sensing circuit driving a relay, but why?

PLX R500 will have a LED light for AFR warning. This system is full of features that will help you tune your car on and off street. Maybe you can tap into the LED light for another kind of trigger.

Thanks,
Tom

Also the XD1 can be programmed to flash a warning light when used with the LM-1 or LC1 with the LMA-3 auxbox.

is it really THAT hard to watch as you run out revs?

i would agree... way too much hassle for little gain.

Ok heres what im getting at, sorry for the confusion. In my silvia i had a wideband, and a greddy e-01. Now the e-01 boost controler can read any analog signal, create a reading from it, and adjust boost baced on that same signal. I had it setup so that if the air/fuel ran lean then the boost controler would kick the boost down instantly to the lowest setting. It worked flawlessly. I would set my car to run lean at say 6,000rpm with my emanage. Punch the gas and the second the car got to that part of the map, the wideband would send a signal out to the e-01 of the lean condition and the e-01 would kill the boost. I never had a single issue with it and it worked great.

Now im just trying to bo the same thing, using a wideband, gm boost controller, and some sort or switch for in the middle. Also as for being a mess. when i did it with the e-01 all i had to do was take the analog wideband output and run it to the aux input signal with on the e-01. Thats it, one extra wire to run like 2 feet tops. I was looking in to a voltage adjustable relay. so that you can set it to triger at a certian voltage thus powering the gm boost sel at that setting. Its a very simple and clean setup. Guy i could set my boost for 35psi on a sc61 and the second the sr20 went lean it would kill the boost, saved it every time during my testing. It is also seemless and you never see or feel any diffrence in your car unless a lean situation happens and a boost higher than you wg setting or lowest boost controler setting.

You can set the LM-1 to do those features. Turn on and record when hits a predetermined number, for like drag racing or other things.
