Strange stall...
Strange stall...
I just wanted to know the cause of this... here what happenned:
I was stopped behind one of my friends car at a stoplight, which is a Civic EG hatchback, when he slightly reved his car. He has one of those large N1 style exhaust that sounds like a can. After he reved a little, my idle started dipping and rising and eventually my car just stalled... The mods I have are:
Turboback
Injen Intake/ UICP
HKS SSQV BOV
Hallman MBC
Apexi SAFC2
Exhaust Header
Walbro 255
Ground Kit
Anyone know what's going on?

Your ECU detected what it thought was knock and caused you to shut down. There have been many cases of this discussed in the past on this forum. I'm sure your poor combination of mods didn't help the situation either.
the evo measures air intake by karman hertz, the disturbance in the hertz frequency from the loud N1 exhaust might have caused you to stall. I noticed this too...when your car is ideling and you slam the hood, the car will almost stall out too
Injen intake w/UICP (good part with the right tune and right setup), HKS SSQV, grounding kit, and header with only the SAFC as a tuning device. The HKS SSQV goes without saying, the grounding kit hurts nothing but is a frivolous purchase, the header is a pretty expensive part for not having cams or alky (far more useful), and the S-AFC can't properly account for that combination of mods unless you were to add injectors. You really need a flash or a more sophisticated piggyback to properly tune for that stuff. It's possible that you still would have stalled due to that Civic even with no mods (or other mods), but the combination you have listed would most likely make it even more prone to stalling in such a situation.

Your car should have only paused for a half a second and continued. If a quick change of timing makes your car stall, then something (mentioned above) aint right.
My car only hiccups when I close the hood or something.

A Harley also passed me once at a light once and my car bugged out. It didnt stall though, the rpms just dipped but went back up.
I always wondered why my car dipped when u close the hood sometimes too. I always thought it was the switch for the hood on my alarm.
