Great write up, more info than my head can absorb in one setting.

Something to add for the 3 ACD lights... I had been having the same problem on and off, after looking, reading, and mostly worrying I have discovered something weird.

For mine anyway, I only get the 3 lights when I use the wipers. Cold, hot, wet, or dry it doesn't matter. Everytime I hit the wipers, at the end of the first downward stroke of the wipers, all three lights light up and stay lit until I turn the car off. If I start the car again, with everything else being the same, and do not hit the wipers, only the one light stays lit as it should.

Anyone else having these issues possibly with the same common denominator? Any suggestions?

Mitsubishi has a new relay that replaces the previous part number. The previous relay is apparently quite sketchy and the tech at Korum Mitsubishi had ordered a dozen of them as they are replacing the old ones whenever a evo comes in for service.

It would be a $14 expiriment.

Hello,

I have a problem with my ACD. De three lights pop up after taking a corner. U can drive miles straight without it ever popping op, taking the first corner off the highway it pops up.

I went to a Mitsu dealer and they read the ACD/AYC unit. I gives code 46. After doing some search it seems that code 46 stands for Pressure unit Sensor (Open Ground). Awhile ago i found a document where it stated that the trigger for code 46 was that the sensor gave a output to the ECU higher than 2V. I can't find that specific document. It was somekind of troubleshoot regarding ACD.

First i called a specialist. They told me to turn on the ignition and press the gas pedal. Now you can hear the pump(10s). Now turn off the ignition wait a couple of minutes and do it again. Now the pump should only be pumping a couple of seconds (2-3s). That means that the pump is working ok because its not leaking pressure.

Today, I cleaned all the connector on the ACD pump including the connector of the Pressure sensor. All was is good state. But still the three light popped up after taking the first corner. There is still enough fluid in the reservoir. Now i have a couple of questions:

Is the pressure sensor a sensor that gives more voltage when the pressure rises or when its lowered. Example: 10 bar = 0.5v 20bar = 2.0v OR 10 bar = 2.0v 20 bar = 0.5v..?

Does anyone know which (troubleshoot)document I am referring too and has it?

Does anyone have a suggestion?

Seems as though the root of my problem started when someone wired the AEM standalone incorrectly

I've tried searching to no end, and now I need help guys. Brief history, car has 22k miles, never had any type of ACD issues/occurances before. Car has sat in garage for a few months due to winter, have done upgrades to engine, test drove car and everything was perfect. Car sat another 2 weeks, decided to upgrade gauges, did so all while battery being disconnected to be safe, started car today and have all 3 lights on. Now I start car, normal ACD light on Tarmac like always, after about 5 minutes or so of sitting there idling, all 3 lights turn on and stay on. I dont drive the car, I dont rev the engine... just sit there and idle and after 5 or so minutes all 3 turn on. I turn off/turn back on and does the same thing, starts off good, then after 5 or so min, all 3 back. I need help, I'm going to preform the relay test tomorrow with a multimeter, but does anyone have a troubleshooting guide in general I can preform for the ACD, or any suggestions in general. All wheel sensors were 100% untouched, 60amp ABS fuse is fine. I've tried turning the power on and holding accel pedal to floor to hear if pump comes on, while doing this the 1 tarmac light is on like normal, but about 30 seconds after depressing pedal and hearing nothing, I hear the relay click and then all 3 lights come on which is why I'm gonna test it tomorrow. Just as a side note, the car is still on the stock clutch and the ACD fluid level is fine.

::EDIT:: Found it thanks to grounding the upper lefthand pin and counting the flashes method. Found a bad ground wire, everything is all better now.
