Hello guys, Jarrod asked me about the test. I want to chime in.
First out Race FMIC is the largest area as it comes in at 1152. It's 24x12x4. It is priced at $850. I also feel our core is superior to most others, many companies on this poll use the same core manufacturer we do so I can only say some
Anyway. I would love to do a comparison test of the Nisei against ours. If I do it I'd like to have some witnesses here so I don't get accused of messing with results. The dyno is the end all place to do a test of an intercooler but it is about as good as any as far as I am concerned. I'll atleast keep the testing consistent and measure boost levels and air temp. Easy in my car as it has an AEM on it with both sensor already in.
Now would be a great time to do this testing too as the front fascia is off my car anyway so it's easy to swap back and forth.
I think something else to consider is intercooler plumbing. We have intercooler plumbing kits that fit ALL of our FMIC's.
If this test comes to be I'd also like to test our standard core against the Nisei, I think it will be interesting to see how good even our smaller intercooler compares.
We might just call and buy one on our own.

One thing the larger frontal area is good for is creating more drag.

David,
Is your boost controller hooked up to intake manifold pressure or turbo outlet pressure?
If it is the former, when you do the test is there any way you can log the pressure both before and after the IC?

Those all seem pretty similar to me.
