Question Anyone broken a Ralliart FLSD?

EDIT: I purchased a TRE Ralliart LSD and have to say its a night and day difference in the twisties. Money well spent!

Here's the scoop....basically I love my 03 EVO but there is one thing that I hate about it. No front limited slip diff! I could just trade up but it would be silly to spend $6k to get basically the same fricken car.

I road race the crap out of this car and a front LSD would definately be worth the $1000 from TRE.

The only thing I want to know is if anyone has actually broken them. I know many folks have killed the factory 03 xfer case and its known to be the weak link. I just want to reassure myself that for $1000 I wont have to worry about that link anymore. Its not that I'm not out doing clutch dumps (24k and still on stock clutch) but I am downshifting and sometimes really banging thru the gears. I am hard on the car just not abusive.

For those of you who have upgraded your 03 to a FSLD xfer case....have you had any issues with anitlocks? I read somewhere that ABS wasn't LSD friendly in 03.

Get the Quaife. It's got a lifetime warranty.

Well the Ralliart is $850 installed. How much is the quaife?

I will never go beyond 350WHP. Is there really a need to upgrade to the quaife vise the RA?

Save your money and get the Ralliart. I have one and it is great. No problems with the ABS when I autox.

The guys break the front diff when they do high RPM launches when dragging. They get wheel hop which stresses the diff. With relatively low hp and road racing you should be fine.

Just my .02.

All I have to add is if you want to never worry about it again... the Quaife may be worth a extra few hundred dollars. Everyone knows how I'm all about "bang for the buck"... and the Ralliart/OE RS diff would probably be just that. However, the Quaife is one of the few "race parts" that has a lifetime warranty INCLUDING racing. Having Jon build your Xfer case with one would probably be one of the longest lasting components on your car

I try to live by the saying: "You get what you pay for".
Sometimes trying to save $$ now ends up costing you more later.
If you are ONLY going to have 350HP, Ralliart will be fine, but the stock would probably be fine too as long as you don't shock it, (dump the clutch at high rpm).

Looks like I'm gonna take the plunge....then I'll keep my 03 a little longer.

Since it only costs a $100 to swap the open to the lsd I may just have it switched back and sell it before I sell my car.

I have the quaife. I might have bought the ralliart diff, but the prices were far different back when I installed the diff.

you can't beat the quaife warrentee, it's worth the extra price.
