RPS Clutch. Who so far is running fast with this clutch?
RPS Clutch problems. Recomendations for a new clutch?
I Have a RPS clutch, this is my second clutch since I bought my car. The first one was a exedy hyper single.
It seems to me that the clutch theme is a taboo right now, a lot of different opinions. When I purshased the RPS, everybody told me it was the best out there. I have my whole car built by Turbo Trix, including a new tranny.
The main problem with the clutch is the second and the fourth gear. There is no way to change the gears so quick enough to run a good quarter mile pass. And when you release the gas pedal, the car seems to be dragging a lot of weight. The clutch is too heavy.
Who is running fast with RPS. It seems to me that nobody. Now I need to buy a different one, but is hard after you spent 2.5K in a f... clutch.
I looked and nobody have a clear oppinion which one will be a good and final option as a clutch. Some person says, tilton, other says exedy, etc. BUt the fact is that before releasing a hard part like this one, the manufacturer has to prove it and publish to everybody all the pros and the cons of their product.
Please somebody give me light about it. For a car who wants to touch the 10 second at the strip. which clutch will be?

The Standard Twins have gone 10.90's and these will go 10.50's while staying completly streetable.
If you search - there are VERY few people that have had major problems with their Twin Plates and these Heavy Dutys are where it's at.
However, if you want to keep on ore of a budget and don't mind giving up a tad of drivability - The ACT HDR6 was good enough for Turbo Trix and won't break the bank.
Lemme know if I can offer anymore help!
Exedy Twin Heavy Duty is what I got, and it helps me kick da Booty! (Hell it kinda rhymes). This clutch is the one to have, and MattGold is the one to talk to about it, and get it from. He has been there EVERY STEP of the way for me! Happy New Year Matt! It is still cold in Michigan, you arent missing much!!!!
there are a lot of fast Evos here in AZ that are running the ats carbon twin and triple discs. I did my clutch research a while ago and I think that this is definately the way to go. Mynes Performance has them in stock.

I have the RPS and know the guys over there personally. Your clutch might not be adjusted right.
I can shift mine at high RPM with no issues, and the rollout is smooth with no clutch chatter or noise.
The pedal pressure should feel like stock and you shouldn't have any trouble going through the gears unless you have transmission or install issues. Call over to RPS and ask their tech support guys what they think.
If there is an issue with the clutch, they'll warrantee it if you are within the 6 month period. Even if you are outiside that time period, they may honor a warantee on a case by case basis.
I had one of the first clutches and everytime my car went down for an upgrade, they rebuilt it for me at no charge until it was perfect (the first ones had ring gear/starter issues).
Iirc you get a free rebuild within the 6 month period. After that it's $600.
If you decide to get an Exedy, I hear Matt will come and live with you until you are completely satisfied.

. He just left my house, and said he is on his way to your house! I guess he is like a door-knob, everyone gets a turn!jk if course!
I cant say anything bad about Exedy and MattGold, they are very knowledgeable, professional, and want you to be repeat customers, or customers for life. They mean it, and there are more happy Exedy owners then dis-satisfied ones. EXEDY all the way!

I really dont want to change the clutch, if it works. At the beggining I thoughed it was the way I drive the car. Then I started playing with the pedal up and down. I talked with RPS tecn. department, they said to play with the pedal. After all that I simply replace the tranny, no it was not that. Now mark suggested me to take out the clutch line restrictor and I did it and nothing. The gears keep entering very roughly. I changed all the bushings, Short Shifter, lines, etc. I kind of fustrated!!!!!
After spent a lot of money in this car, bringing here a certified tuner, etc., I never had a decent pass. Now the car is tuned, ready to go, but the shifting is not good. What else I can do? My car only have 2K miles, the RPS only have like 700 km in.
Any suggestion?

How much weight the Exedy twin? And is neccessary to buy a new clutch release tool for the proper disganging.
What about the tripple one?
