stupid intake box!

Angry stupid intake box!

I aint never had so much trouble with putting on a stupid intake box!!! any tips or tricks on how to get that sucker back on? I'm talking about the intake pipe to the MAF. grrr....spent about an hour just trying to wrestle that thing back on....

Loosen the bracket (clamp) enough, "wiggle" the sucker in there, and no problema!It s rubber so it will compress when you put it in there, move the boxtoward the front of the car, back to the firewall a few times.

It's pretty simple. Just make sure the little clamp is completely loosened.

sounds like you shouldn't be messing around in the engine bay if you're struggling with the stock air box

i cant that sucker either
broke 2 of the plastic pieces that hold the stock bolts in place

Get a bigger hammer?

Losten the clamp all the way, lube the tube with some spit, lift the tube up and feed the maf in. You will need to wiggle it a bit and masage the tube some.

Sounds like you're talking about something different, i.e. 2 of the 4 bolts that hold the MAF honeycomb housing to the intake box. Yeah, you have to be really careful with that part, since you don't want to damage the honeycomb. I found that using vise grips to hold onto the rectangular end of the bolt (the part between the plastic tabs) works best, and makes it a lot easier to free the nut on the other end.

yeah, it was a good line. made me step back, laugh and rethink it. took off the UIP and voila slips on soooo easy. still a PITA cause there's just no room to work with but now it's over and done with I can about it.
