Break in period for New EVO IX

Hi,I'm from TURKEY. I just purchased a new EVO9, As much as i know i have to drive through a break in period with this car. For The first 1000km it is told that, its bad to drive hard and at high rpms. Is this real? After 1000 km changing the oil and going WOT is told to be good for engine. IS this true? I've been through some WOT nights and i feel unconfortable about this.....!

Check your users manual. Most people take it easy (low rpms) on the car during break-in period. After break-in you can gradually start to step on it ...

I believe the break-in proceduure is documented in your manual.

My suggestion is to keep it below 5k rpms up until 600miles (1000km), but be sure to do WOT boosting up until 5k rpms quite often. After 1000km, go ahead and run it as hard as you want. I didn't change my oil at 600 miles, but you can if you want to. I only change my oil at the recommended intervals (5k miles or 4 months).

Strange, I was told to keep it below about 3K rpms until about 1000km, and was told NOT to do WOT boosting. Perhaps you meant "be sure NOT to do WOT boosting" Warrtalon?

there are a million different views on this topic, some believe in none while others have a well thought out process, I am more on the side of none since I have done that with three brand new cars thus far, 01 ws6 trans am, 04 wrx and now 05 evo8 but all had no more than 35k on them so who knows what the long term effects are of breaking in a car in that manner
