Troubleshooting: Clunking Sound in Rear

Ok before I get flamed, I did search through about 4 pages of thread and found one talking about the same exact thing my car is doing, but no one gave an answer.

Whenever I let the clutch out quickly after a shift, I get the clunking sound coming from what seems to be the rear. I've checked the trunk to make sure nothing was sliding around and everything seemed secured. It does it from 1-2 and from 2-3, but it's very faint from 3-4 or higher.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

It sounds like this is from your driveshaft. It has a slight amount of play when spinning so when you shift and engage the clutch quickly it just sends a little bit of shock to it.

I've been in 2 05's and 1 06' and normal or not any quick shifting resulted in a clunk. My 05' can clunk in every gear 1st-4th if I shift like I do at the track.

i get a clunking sound every once in a while. almost like a loose socket or something. i read on here somewhere that someone had a similar noise and then put in a torque dampner and the noise went away. maybe you could try that?

It's normal, all evo's will do it, but if you don't drop the clutch so fast the sound won't happen

Yea I would agree with the tempature thing too.
While we're on the topic, does anyone else's clutch feel "sticky" when its cold out?
My clutch doesnt slip, but it feels like the pedal is "gummy" and kinda holds back and then will pop up at the top- mostly noticable when its cold out.

Any ideas?

I'm not shifting hard

My car hasn't even hit the break in period yet so I haven't ran it hard at all. I just shifted while getting on the interstate and I guess I let the clutch out quicker than normal and *CLUNK*. By no means did I drop the clutch out while shifting, I just slipped it out quicker than normal driving.

If by hard you mean fast there is not much you can do. If I powershift second it's "Wham" the only time it doesn't do it is if I shift slow that's it. Any powershift or fast lift shift and it's a big "Clunk" or "Wham" whatever you want to call it.
