Well, I wouldn't exactly say I know nothing about it: I've had 2 clutches (6-puck was too strong, replaced it with a Spec 2) put in. You could reasonably say that I know very little about it, though

Let me clarify: The entire engine isn't dropped out of the car, but you have to take out/off basically everything else in and around it... The point is that it's VERY labor intensive, and even more so if you don't have good tools or a lift. I was speaking somewhat hyperbolically to emphasize the fact that it's not a simple "reach-in-pull-out-put-in-new-tighten-a-few-screws-and-you're-done" project.

I'm also pretty sure that the original poster isn't going to do it himself... but if he (or someone else) wants to, here you go, in 37 easy steps :

If I had to pay for my clutch job, I wouldn't trust it to anyone else but RRE. I fyou had purchased the parts from RRE as well, they might have cut you a deal. Yes, RRE might be a little bit more expensive, but that is for a reason. Don't skimp on your clutch job.

Well noted. I will definitely keep my appointment with them. I didn't realize that RRE was so popular here in the LA area. I'm also surprised that there aren't many other EVO speciality shops in the LA area.
