pre-oiler
I just ordered a preoiler, something I have always wanted, but never thought about, can I run it after the oil cooler, the question being, is the oil cooler "open" when the engine is cold?
thanks
thanks
Don't quote me on this but i think there is a "valve" type mechanism such as a thermostat that opens up when the oil is at a certain temp. What "pre-oiler" did you get? Good luck.

I got the simple one from amsoil, a little pricey

but I don't think it would oil the cylinders, should just squirt some oil through the bearings and maybe the top end. I could be wrong, ask my wife.

It's mainly for 'wet' startups. It holds oil under pressure when the engine is shut off, when you turn on your ignition to start the car an electronic solonoid opens and allows the oil to be pushed into your oilways to 'preoil' all your bearings.
Most of your engine wear occurs in the first few seconds before oil gets to the bearings.
