I would wait, i work at a mits dealership and drive an 03 everyday to work with boltons and the stock IX's are just as fast. a IX with bolt ons is sick for a street car!!

Hmm... Does this mean that MIVEC control will be integrated into HKS' V-Pro soon...? Hmmmm.... Or do you run this MIVEC control box in conjunction with a piggy back / standalone? Confusing...

Well have any of them dealt with the new 3.24 box or are they still dealing with the 3.23(better known as 3.2). The 3.24 box just came out which has the evo 9 wizard settings.

That's great information... I think most have just dealt with the 3.2 box with throttle by wire control... but not the new version... hell, HKS's website doesn't even list the new box. Does the 3.24 have a separate map for MIVEC built in as well?

By the way, do you have a part # for the 3.24 version?

Have seen it in the latest Japanese Option magazine where HKS Kansai did a dyno test on 3 different settings on these specially made cams advancing and retarding the inlet cams on the Evo 9. It really is like having adjustable cam gears on the fly. Values were like in the range of between 100 to 130 degrees on the Variable Cam Timing controller. Good stuff...

Part number is the same, price is the same, just an upgraded version. Also, the 3.24 box will read 3.2 maps as well.

You can setup a seperate sub map to control the cam timing, but they are not sure how it's going to completely work. SP is actually doing the first one in the States, and they are setting it up using a seperate sub map to control the timing. At this time they are suggesting to let the stock ecu control the MIVEC timing until they can figure out what exact parameters trigger it.

Hmmm... so control fuel and ignition mapping... but leave MIVEC alone? Sounds like a band aid solution til other things are figured out. I'm guessing someone in Japan has already figured out the intracacies... I'll have to look further into that...

Incidentally, there's a thread about IX tuning with HKS products (co-project between EVasive and SP)... no info on a IX specific V Pro harness...

Read thru that yesterday, I believe they are the first in the States to install the a Vpro into a 9. Not sure if it has been done in Japan yet, but I bet it has.
