HKS 9 Cams at Sema...

I was just curious if anyone noticed in the latest addition of Turbo magazine that one of the hot products at SEMA was cams for the 9? They also will come with a Electronic Valve Timing Controller for in cockpit adjustment of where the cams roll into their high-rpm lobes. Check it out page 80.

That sounds pretty cool. Wonder how the cams will react to the MIVEC......

The 9 doesn't have extra lobes.

This is MI Vec.... not V Tec

Sorry but it has one lobe, the Vtec has two lobes that it switches between, the Mivec just advanced the timing gears forward and back.

Yes thats why in the IX ECU map, there is a specific MIVEC table. Shiv talked about it a little in one of his "Definitive (sort of) IX ECU thread".

When the Cams become available for USDM model IXs and if they make larger gains on the IX compared to VIIIs (I'm talking 10WHP to 20WHP) then that's it, I'm done. I'm scratching plans of purchasing a used 03-04 in June or July, and saving up another 6 or 7 months for a IX.
