Best 02 housing for the price

Hey guys before i start i want to say that ive done alot of searching and im still not sure what to get. Im stuck in between 3, the helix one, the megan one, and the ebay one from buschur. Which one of these would be the best performing and would last and not crack. Thanx in advance

They are all the same thing. Talk to Soon2BEVO. He owned all three. They are the EXACT same unit. Hope that helps. The ebay one from buschur is coated. If you buy it cheaper on ebay, it is not.

Just to clarify Buschur does not sell coated EBAY housings. He looked into it but he never worked out a deal where he could sell these "Ebay" housings in mass quanities. The only o2 housing Buschur offers is a ported and coated stock one.

Lots of people say that the Ebay ones are cheap and will crack over time vs. the ported stock ones. I know several members here are running the cheap ones and I rarely see a post about one cracking. I recently purchased a Ebay one but I cant comment on how well its made because im currently deployed overseas. For the money id go with the cheap one, I mean got mine for 80 shipped. Cant beat that price.

Warrtalon...where you at?

I think the OEM, ported and ceramic coated from Buschur is your best bet:
--- OEM quailty, aftermarket gains, stock looking

I believe warrtalon "traded in" his ported and coated stock 02 for the ebay 02 as did David Buschur. Less reliable but considerably more power. Hope that helps.

Wait till Warr does his write up on the ebay version before you form an opinion. He wont beat around the bush nor blow smoke up your ***. You can guarantee it'll be nothing but facts and a well rouded review. Should be top notch as are his other reviews.

I have the megan o2 housing. Not currently installed in my car. I could not tell if it made a difference cuz it was installed with 2 other mods at the same time. Im selling it for $50 shipped. Great condition. PM me if interested.

Is this true? Did you talk to Dave in the last few days, or did he post this somewhere, and I missed it? I need to make sure I know for sure so that I don't lead people astray. He got his set of 10 in, sent me one uncoated, and was going to send the other 9 to get coated so that he could resell for $200. Are you saying he isn't coating those other 9 or just that he isn't going to continue stocking these in the future due to the inability of being able to work out a bulk deal?

At the very least, he WILL be selling the rest of those Ebay O2s, and I believe they will be coated unless he changed his mine recently...

S2K, I agree that the stock ported/coated O2 is a great option for reasons of strength, durability, stock-appearing, and simplicity, but I am testing the Ebay O2 to see if the gains from Dave's car can be seen on a regular unbuilt Evo.

Warr, if the gains can be seen, are they enough to overule the possibilty of the same longevity as OEM ported/coated?

If they Ebay one is only a few hp/tq gain over OEM, but might not have the same duribility, wouldn't OEM be the safest bet?

I believe that the ebay o2 coated from buschur is going to be the best option. There will still be a chance that it might crack, but it will be significantly less now that it will be coated and it will keep the engine bay temps down as well.

You simply cant beat the stock cast housing for durability and longevity, but most people are going to go after that extra 15 hp for the difference in the cost..

that's a personal decision for everyone to make. In my case, since I'm getting these as sponsored parts and have the option of switching back to a Buschur ported/coated stock o2 housing later if I have problems, then I have no risk. As an everyday customer/Evo owner who has to make these decisions with more risk involved, I don't have the answer yet. That's why I am doing this test, so that everyone else can benefit from my results whether good or bad. The only hard part is the longevity issue. I might make an extra 10-12whp like Dave, but will it break/crack/deteriorate in 3 months...6 months...1 year...2 years...never? I have no idea, but it's worth it to me to try for the extra power even if the thing eventually cracks, because the cost is worth the power even if it requires later installing a new one for another $80.
