turbo or wastegate?

Hey guys i thought i was going to lose my evo so I had my friend take off all the parts and put it back to stock. Well his car was never the strongest of the group. so we traded turbos as payment. with the turbo on his car we could never get it to hit boost right. while making pulls on the highway it would hit full boost but taper really quick. I use to own his car and when i had it mitsu had to replace the wastegate acutator. Now the turbo is on my car and it hits full boost (1.45 bar) sometimes and then tapers and other times it only hits a bar. I dont think that there are boost leaks.
My question is do you guys think its the wg or the turbo?
My mods
272s
br intake
dc sports dp
rsr catback
fuel pump
tt flash
i also have a profec b and custom piping with a tial bov that needs to go back on the car.

Cool

what are his mods?? did you try just putting a MBC on the car to see if it holds any better?? did he get a reflash for the P0300 code?? sounds like it may be misfiring and pulling timing due to knock...check timing at full boost to see what your making. how about fuel?? did he get a bad mix of fuel?? try a different fuel station....just suggestions.

The turbo is off my first evo I had a halman mbc 272 cams supporting mods and a dynoflash. the car would pull the same as the other evos in the area with same mods untill about 6000 rpms and then the other cars would just leave it. i then swicted to a tt flash and the same thing would happen.
I sold the car to best friend where he added an aem and a greddy profec and a custom tt tune and the turbo would still fall off. when i thought i was losing my car we traded turbos and now the turbo is on my second 03 evo and the turbo hits full boost sometimes in lower gears and rarely hits full boost in 4 and 5th and when it does hit full boost it just falls off so sometimes hit hits fullboost around 1.5 bars and then other times it only hits a bar.

Thanks for the suggestions. The turbo has always done this so its not the fuel the turbo has been on two cars with three different flashes and an aem. I know it has something to do with the turbo or the wastegate. I am leaning towards the wg as mitsu replaced the wg acutator under warranty.

Cool

try the Forge or the Forced Performance WG actuators. i have the FP actuator and love it. it looks almost completely stock. you cant really tell it from the factory one to the FP one so no one will know but you or your installer!!!heheheehe!!!
