What is going on with my car?

Okay, last night i went out driving my evo for about an hour and drove on and off the freeway a couple times. i drove almost everywhere. on the drive back home on the freeway i floored the gas and i noticed somethin was wrong. i was went into 4th to quickly changle lanes and floored the gas it went to about 4000 rpms then it was as though i put the clutch down and the rpms jumped to 6500 rpms. is this because my clutch is bad and disengaged? or is my transmission mess up? WTF is goin on?

+1. You may want to think of purchasing a clutch soon, as this will get worse with use. Eventually, your clutch will quit on you.

+1 your clutch is bad. Slipping normally starts in higher gears, soon it will start slipping in third, even at it's worst before i got mine fixed it wouldn't slip in 1st.

It seems when they go on these cars they go very fast so plan on getting one fixed real soon.

The only clutch I've ever had go out on me started slipping in first gear (stock clutch at 96K in my '90 Talon TSI), but I've always heard that italmost always starts to slip under higher load in high gears.

Mine started out the same way. Started slipping at Interstate speeds when I would accelerate it would free rev. Sucked, but it is pretty common with these cars once mods start.
