What BOV and Intake are you running??

I just purchased my EVO and was looking for some advice on what sort of BOV and intake setup you guys recommend. On my Turbo MR2, I was using the Greddy Type S BOV without any problems, but I see they now have a Type RS... any improvements? As far as intake, I have always used AEM in the past, but the Injen intake with the intercooler piping looks inticing. Any and all advice would be appreciated, and yes I have already searched, but the search takes out crucial words that narrrow down the results.

Thanks,

-Brandon

Go with the intake and get a MR JDM DV valve instead of a BOV. It will cause idle problems and the money would be better spent on an exhuast and a tune. Just think with a TBE, Fuel Pump, Intake and custom tune you chould put down right around 300 WHP and have a car that drives better than stock. If your just starting almost everyone here will tell you the same thing. There is a reason.

I have the hks rs intake with jdm mr bov, but first what mods do you have, and intake is one of the last few things you can get as the stock air box is quite efficient up till around the 400whp mark

Again, you just have to be persistent with the advanced search. BOVs and Intake threads are the bane of EvoM's existence and are the most basic of basics. We've discussed this stuff thousands of times, so you just have to try a little harder.

Now, the first thing you should ask yourself is, "Why am I asking about intakes and BOVs first?" They are 2 of the least useful items on the Evo and are certainly not mods you should do first. We have to assume you have no other mods, since you didn't list any and since you don't even know about intakes and BOVs yet for the Evo despite how often they get discussed.

Here is my recommendation, for what it's worth: keep the stock airbox as it is, and don't get a BOV until you have other mods, specifically an MBC pushing over 20psi - then just get a JDM MR DV or my favorite, the Forge RS BOV. Both are excellent, but the Forge is more expensive, but is stronger and fully-adjustable. Both are also fully-recirculating, which is proper for the Evo.

Stock intake with a K & N drop in filter and a Forge RS diverter valve. Great combo IMHO.

I got the HKS RS intake and HKS SSQV recirced. As what wartalon said you will have problems when you get an intake. Ive heard some ppl getting the intake for there first mod and some had problems with them. You will need to tune it to get the full function for it. If i were you just go for a TBE first.
