HELP! Really loud clicking noise after Overboost CEL..

I will post a video in the evening....and I'll try to do a compression test....

Rod Knock?
u need a new crank.
maybe some damage on the pistons and rods.
boost cut/fuel cut doesn't go boom on evo's. It's rather pleasant.
I would check crank and transmission(specifically the clutch).
Had this happen to a friend. Sounds dead on.

Alright guys, thanks for the suggestions...anyways, I did a compression test a few minutes ago...
From passenger to drivers side...
#1 - 115psi <---bad one (after a little oil, it jumped up to 150psi)
#2 - 170psi
#3 - 173psi
#4 - 172psi
From the OEM manual, it states that if the compression increases after you add a little oil, it means that: "malfunction is a worn piston or damaged piston ring and/or cylinder inner surface"
Is this true then? piston gone bad? or it's a major rod knock?

Sounds like a broken ring or as the rest have said crank,or bearing. What cel code was it?

i do plan to get tuned as soon as the forge dv i have coming in gets put on.
there isn't a cel code for blown engine.
stock ECU is good for 25 psi, which I figure what the engine could take for brief period + 1 or 2 psi.
so around 26psi on 93 psi is cutting it deadly close.
just take your car to a shop, take the valve cver out, check the crank and pistons...
I suggest stop driving the car all together, may cause transmission problem as well...

Sounds to me like possible rod knock. You probably got alot of detonation, put alot of pressure on the bearings (messed up #1) , and broke a ring land. Hopefully it is none of this but you know how that goes. Good luck and let us know what you come up with. AMS is having a special on stroker kits so this might be up your alley.
Man that sucks! I would be pist if something like that happened to me. I don't have money to just buy a stroker kit or for that matter time to spend on warranty claims. Just curious, what brand MBC were you using?
