is ur aftermarket clutch "clutch"
i need help guys
my car is a daily driver. i drive basically city and everyday and go to the track. i am lookn at a goal of 375whp so i need something that'll be good enough with slippage for daily driving and will grab real good on the track. also, i do not want to sacrifice the quality of my daily drive for a lot more grab, because im afraid i'll do something to the drivetrain from the ultra "grabiness" of the clutch. and pedal feel is important also.
remember its a daily driver.
also, should i upgrade my flywheel as well? and if so, any suggestions!?
thanks a lot

They are talking about this very subject here.....Act & Exede being discussed. I have heard the Act HDSS clutch is very good with or without lightened flywheel....I am considering this ...streetable and I've read it can handle up to 400 HP...

As far as the street clutch goes...I have it myself...but after the purchase i read lots about how it wears down syncros and some other things....it would explain why my 4th gear seems a bit funny...honestly....Exedy offers alot of great clutches..although the price is steep...thats the direction i would have gone if i knew what i know now...

We have good experience with both ACT and Exedy clutches. Are you talking about 375whp whp on a Mustang or dynojet? I would recommend a twin plate if you are making 375whp on a loaded dyno. If not, an Exedy organic will be great for street use. The organic with hold up more power than the stock with close to OEM pedal feel.

syncros were already ruined and not made that well to begin with, so even with other clutches, it will ruin it.
If you really think about it, stock clutch ruined more syncros then aftermarket one. (hence the recall/tsb)

No experience with ACT. But Exedy twin has been A+ so far.
Stock pedal effort but took a little bit to get used to. Definitely notice the missing mass / inertia of the stock flywheel.
Phenomenal grabbing power, some noise, never missed a shift due to clutch at high RPM.
Hope that helps a bit.

Gruppe-S pretty much sumned it up.
Stock clutch (i.e. single disk) will hold up to about 380 whp on a dynojet (mine did). When I was at Dyno4mance, getting my car tuned, they said that usually the stock clutch would give out around 360ish or so on their Dyno Dynamics dyno.
I now have an Exedy Twin Metallic clutch, which, IMO, would be overkill for what you are looking to do. One of the biggest things you should pay attention to is whether or not the pedal effort will be increased with your choice of aftermarket clutch. That is probably where 80% of your driveability will come from (read: too heavy = no fun at all in a traffic jam).

It seems to me that this is the eternal question. Which clutch or brand is better? Jesus christ! lol.
Why is so difficult to find a good option for this car.
To choose the proper clutch for the evo you almost need to make a intensive course. F^&&***.

i've got 16k on my ACT HDSS and lightened fly wheel. so far so good, only one trip to the track though. it's def doin better than the stocker which i only drove on for 3-4k miles, 11k miles total on it. I dont have 375hp but thats my 2 cent.
