turbos question
turbos question
i've been doing some searching and i just dont get it... the gt35r ... on pump gas only puts out (from what i've seen) roughly about 450-475 ish on pump gas...
dont many other turbos (gt3037, gt3076r, gt30r etc) make rougly the same power without the lag that comes withe the gt35r??

The GT35R needs to be run at high boost in order to be fully-utilized. To run that high boost, you need to be on race gas or alky all the time. A GT35r is not the most useful for someone who wants to run nothing but pump gas...

denatured alcohol or ethanol (C2H5OH) has an air/fuel ratio of about 9:1 for stoic., Methanol (CH3OH) is closer to 6.45:1. this means significantly more methanol is needed to keep the stoic. ratios balanced with the added fuel. of course the increase in methanol also offers significantly more cooling properties as well... so it is a trade off (given both alcohols at stoic ratio, methanol will have about 30% more cooling effect...). all in all, methanol and ethanol have close to the same latent heat of vaporization, so if your using it for no other purpose then to cool the intake charge and don't really care about A/F ratios, then either one will do fine.
and yes both alcohols are corrosive.

I wasn't saying that denatured alcohol is the same thing as methanol. I was saying that it's the same concept - alcohol injection, alky, methanol injection, whatever. Same thing, different fluids, negligible difference in terms of this question.

ooo well the let's say on a 30r what psi would u run on pump.. and about what psi would u run with alky, and what psi would u run with meth??...
same question for the 35r?... from what I know... u can run 30 psi with alky is that correct?

Methanol is a type of alcohol. Most people consider thier methanol injection kit "Alchy Injectiong".
