GT37r turbo question???
Hey guys, I am about to buy a GT37r turbo kit and I am planning on building my engine but keeping it the stock 2.0... My main goal is to make this a drag/highway/road course set up... I was wondering if anyone has delt with this turbo before and when I can expect to see full spool??? Also what suggestions on the proper rods, pistons, injectors, fuel pump, and other parts that I will need to accompany this turbo... Thanks in advance!

The turbo has been around for quite some time for DSMs... just not all that popular for some reason. "Turbo Bob" made one and calls it the FP3575. It should spool around 400ish RPMs later than a GT35r which in first spools at around 5.3k In first your looking at close to 5.7k spoolup. In third you probably going to spool at 5.3k or thereabouts. It should make around 70 more HP than a 35r which taps out in the low 600's. With a very solid tune you would be at right around 700 donkeys.

I expect you'll see some great times with the 37R. I'm guessing it is as big as you would want to go on the 2.0. The problem is not many people are running it yet. You should see some results as the AMS kits start to deliver and the tracks up north open this spring.
I would agree with RnR racing... you will really want to at LEAST put some new springs in the head. With that turbo you will want to be safely revving it past 8k. The 35r is the biggest turbo you would want to run and only be revving to 8k IMO.
With good driving and a good tune this should be a 9 second turbo. It is not a road course turbo

The reason most Dedicated drag cars are 2.0 is because of the gearing on the evo, it's aggresive gear ratios don't allow for much top end so a smaller higher reving motor is needed to avoid shifting into 5th gear at the end of the quarter.
But as far as road racing and DD a stroker makes it alot more fun to drive without having to rev it much past 7k rpm.
not to mention the TQ to pull you through those corners.

The other reason is you get more revs out of the car for usable power. There are plenty of different gearing options we have. The reason is because if your power band is from 5k-8k on a stroker it could be 6k-10k on a two liter.
trina babe is complelty rite, but i think that this turbo is not what you are looking for, its seems as if you want a great all around turbo, and that is where the 3037 comes in, it truely is a great turbo for all types of racing. ur best combo would be a 3037 and 2.3 stroker
