Another IX exhaust question.....

After clocking in 10,000 miles on my IX I have decided that I can't wait any longer to start the modding on this car. I want to start off with the simple mods like Ecutek flash, RS-R 80mm cat back, RS-R 80mm downpipe, full race headers, mbc, and drop in filter. My two part question is:
1.) which test pipe will work with the RS-R TBE?
2.) which o2 housing should I get, or should I port and polish the stock unit?

Thanks in advance for your replys and suggestions!

Most test pipes should fit as long as the piping is the same diameter as the exhaust piping. I have a Fujitsubo Front Pipe for sale if you're interested =)

As for the o2 housing.. honestly using the stock housing should be more than adequate. Save the money for gas!

I was thinking about going with the helix test pipe and o2 housing but I wasn't sure if it would mate well with the RS-R exhaust system....

Helix makes great products. Check the diameter of both the test pipe and exhaust before you spend money just to find out they dont fit. Chances are they should work together without any problems though.

I'd suggest a resonated test pipe, it really takes the edge off a catless exhaust.

the RSR DP has a built in cat delete so it wont be necessary to purchase one.

A TBE is a turbo back exhaust which consists of a downpipe, cat delete and catback. A RSR dp comes with a built in cat delete so all you would need would be a catback exhaust.

Stick with what works and thats been a 3 inch TBE exhaust, boost gauge, MBC, EcuTek reflash.

Perfect! so all I have to worry about is the o2 housing, I'll probably end up getting the helix. I can't wait to go catless with a tune and unleash massive amounts of power

get a HFC vs. test pipe. Its better for the environment and easier on the wallet if you get pulled over and inspected.

No cats for me, I want catless since in yeilds the best results. I'm not worried about getting pulled over, my catless 20g sti setup never got me in trouble so I doubt anything will happen(my sti was VERY loud, 38mm EWG ).

Get the test pipe, it's cheaper, a resonated unit looks like a cat, and it will make Al Gore cry.

GgreyEVOIX-
Why did you chose the RSR unit? Are there any neckdowns?

jasonc32amg-
Who makes a good resonated test-pipe?

Thanks!

I know works has one, and they have some quality pieces on the pricey side. I got my last one from www.billetdesign.com.
