my evo idle around 1k-1.5(cold start)k I think thats normal. octane booster is not a good idea, better to run 93 off the pump or mix your own race gas, just do a search on this topic and a few will pop up.

evo8: Are you running the A/C? It could be the compressor kicking on. If you are, try punching the button when the rough idle starts and see if it goes away

The AC cycling effects idle, so you may notice it stumble slightly when the compressor kicks on.

I dialed my idle down to 850 via the idle air bypass screw on the throttle body, thats about as low as it will go.

Interesting. What is the idle speed for the USDM? On the JDM 7 and 8 it is 850 RPM. It's even stated on a sticker which is pasted on the underside of the hood.

My car is brand new and it has a little bumpy idle all the time. Not very noticeable, but if you are picky, you will feel it. Don't know if that's normal or not. And that's with or without the AC on.

Maybe i should've started a new thread for this, but didn't want to since this kinda goes with topic!

Compared to alota cars the Evo seems to idle a little higher, i herd that when cars idle high it's bad.. but why?

It's norm.... ALL EVO's run alittle rough time to time. Especially compared to other cars (except maybe rotarys) Nothing to be really concerned about Just give enough time to warm up before driving. On hot days let engine warm up before turning on the AC....
