We only ran 21psi on 93oct. I suppose we could have gone a little higher, but I wanted a good baseline for everyday driving. Like you, I wouldnt feel safe running 23psi on pump gas - all day, every day. Once we switched over to 100oct, we upped to 26-27psi - no more.

The local shell station in ALpharetta - two miles from my house - sells 100oct for $5.90. Which is pretty sweet if an impromtu event comes up.

The DIN correction is more accurate than the uncorrected numbers - the difference is 7lbs at best.

The engine is incredibly smooth and ramps up perfectly. When the turbo hits - its a wild experience. Like being punched in the chest - hard. SO much in fact that even after its over.. you still feel it.. lingering. Crazy, I know. But the car is ridiculously fast!

i guess if he's lucky, most of us in marietta, kennesaw, alpharetta, atlanta evo owners are lucky, because there are gas stations here that sells 100 octane 30 minutes (in traffic, not highway) from every which way.

Great number! I'm very impressed with evo 9's hp gain. Don't let other people who's eyes are green get this thread down.

This should be a celebration thread and it's very informative.

Thanks! and hopefully I could see your car shortly.

Considering evo 9 owners are running 13 flat on stock Evo, it's something that Mitsu Evo owners should be proud and showcase.

I can't wait to see how fast you go.

War,

I'm not calling ya cheap but the 100oct near my house is almost $6/gallon. It just too expensive to even go 50/50 on a regular basis, unless you have second car.

Yes, many tracks sell 100oct, 104oct, 110, 112, 116, 118, C16, whatever. It has nothing to do with "opening our eyes." You can actually search and find the stations that sell it - they are listed, and believe me, I looked really hard around here, because I get a cool 30whp/30wtq right away on even a mix of 100/93. Still, as Jason also said, pump gas means 91-94 oct...

Good numbers...... The Evo 9 with bolt ons are making good power.

As far as the pump gas thing goes. Here's my take on it.

I think the best thing is to just call it "premium gas".. Not pump gas. Pump gas is too ambiguos. Premium gas varies from 91 to 94 octane througout the USA. However unleaded "pump gas" varies from 87 to 104 octane, depending on what part of the country you live in. There are even places around here, you can drive up to an "pump" 110 octane leaded fuel right into you car. Pump gas to me means any unleaded fuel that is available to pump right into you car from a pump at a local gas station. Unleaded fuel is really the only fuel that is legal to run on public roads.

Hah, look at the uncorrected sheet. The 100oct curve is above 360whp from 5700-7200. Good God, that's nasty, especially considering that is the exact rpm range that we use when drag racing, not that Smokin Joe cares much about that, but still. I basically go 5600-7200 in 2nd and 3rd, so a flat 360-370whp through that range would be hellacious...

Smokin Joe, send me that 100oct run file, so i can overlay it with my 26psi alky run file. I got similar tq, but my HP is suffering, and I'd like to see where our HP curves overlap...
